The function of cylinder cushion
May 26, 2021
Its working principle is: when the piston moves to the right under the push of compressed air, the gas in the right chamber of the cylinder is discharged through the cylinder plug hole and the air hole on the cylinder head. When the piston moves towards the end of the stroke, the cushion plunger on the right side of the piston blocks the plug hole. When the piston continues to move to the right, the remaining gas sealed in the right chamber of the cylinder is compressed and slowly discharged through the throttle valve and the air hole. If the pressure energy generated by the compressed gas is balanced with all the energy of the piston movement,
That is to say, the cushion effect will be achieved, and the piston will move smoothly at the end of the stroke without impact. Adjusting the opening of the throttle valve can control the amount of exhaust, thus determining the pressure in the compressed volume (called buffer chamber) to adjust the buffer effect. If the piston moves in the opposite direction, the compressed air can be input from the air hole to directly open the check valve and push the piston to move to the left. If the opening of throttle valve is fixed and not adjustable, it is called non adjustable buffer
