The latest statistics released by the General Administration of Customs show that in the first five months of this year, my country’s total import and export value was 14.76 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 28.2% and a year-on-year increase of 21.6%. Among them, exports were 8.04 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 30.1%; imports were 6.72 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25.9%.
In May, my country’s total import and export value was 3.14 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 26.9%. Among them, exports were 1.72 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.1%; imports were 1.42 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 39.5%.
"From June last year to the present, my country's monthly foreign trade imports and exports have maintained positive growth for one year in a row. Even compared with the same period in 2019, the growth rate of imports and exports in the first five months of this year has exceeded 20%." General Administration of Customs spokesperson and statistics Li Kuiwen, Director of the Analysis Department, said that since the beginning of this year, my country's foreign trade has continued to perform well, which fully reflects my country's vast market potential and stable supply capabilities.
