Schneider Electric Foxboro China celebrates its 40th anniversary

On December 18, coincwith the 45th anniversary of China's reform and opening up, Schneider Electric Shanghai Foxboro Co., LTD. (Foxboro China) held the 40th anniversary celebration of the company's establishment. In 1983, as one of the earliest Sino-US joint ventures,Foxboro China was established in Xuhui District of Shanghai, becoming the first Sino-foreign joint venture high-tech enterprise in China's instrument and instrument electronics industry, which opened a new prelude to leading the vigorous development of China's process automation industry.

One hundred years of precipitation, promote the leap of process automation

Foxboro is an American startup that originated in 1908 in Massachusetts. Since the introduction of its first controller in the 1920s, Foxboro has been focused on innovation in the field of industrial control automation, providing total solutions including automation and information technology, control systems, software, services and consulting services to the manufacturing and infrastructure industries.

In 1983, under the background of Sino-US trade cooperation,Foxboro China Company was officially completed when China invested heavily in the construction of petrochemical, chemical, oil and gas and other process projects and actively introduced global high-tech opportunities. In the two or three years after its establishment,Foxboro China completed the transfer of the latest technology and products to China, and the complete sets of system and equipment products produced by FOXboro China are used by the petroleum, chemical, electric power, metallurgy, mining, building materials, textile, food and other industries in various provinces and cities across the country. In the first 6 years of its establishment, the company's turnover increased by 48 times and its profit increased by 23 times.

On April 12, 1982, China and the United States signed a joint venture agreement in Beijing

As a global technical expert focusing on industrial control systems,Foxboro has always been in line with local customer needs and technology trends in China, completing a gorgeous upgrade from hardware to software, from analog to digital, from closed to open, from automation to digitalization.

After 40 years of hard work, Foxboro's business in China has long been in China's chemical, refining, petrochemical, power generation, steel, cement, glass, pharmaceutical, food and offshore oil platforms and other major process industries. As a technical training, field service, sales engineer and sales manager, Zhu Naxin has worked for almost all the well-known companies in the industry over the past 35 years. He mentioned that in particular, the first batch of power plants and the first batch of refineries in China, such as atmospheric and vacuum pressure, catalysis, hydrogenation, delayed coking and other major refinery applications, all started from the earliest analog DCS system application, and continue to innovate and upgrade with the Foxboro platform. With the iteration of new technologies and the upgrading of old infrastructure,Foxboro also works with enterprises to co-innovate. For example, in Juhua Cogeneration Power Plant,Foxboro co-develops unattended solutions for the thermoelectric industry with customers to improve the operational stability and efficiency of cogeneration power plants. In addition, large local companies such as Hainan Refinery and Dongming Petrochemical have deepened cooperation with Foxboro China, strengthened cooperation in the field of software, and tapped the value of data to keep up with the needs of the era of digital transformation.

Digital age, open a new chapter

After being incorporated into Schneider Electric in 2014, Foxboro China has integrated Schneider Electric's integrated energy management and process automation solutions, and further coordinated with industrial software, adding green and digital wings, whether it is the change of technology or localized business progress, ushering in a new chapter. After the launch of the new generation of EcoStruxure Foxboro DCS process automation system, the Foxboro I/A Series control system is extended for its reliability and future-oriented industrial architecture. Integrates Triconex safety technology with more than 30 years of experience in functional safety and critical control applications to provide enterprise customers with a component-based object engineering environment and one-stop platform services. The system in the solution level, almost covers from the field instrument, to the control system, safety system, then to the upper optimization, and finally to the digital plant design and operation and maintenance of the complete system; And in the application level, it can control and protect many huge and complex process facilities, completely adapt to different process industries and different device application scenarios.

At present, in order to continue to pursue the ultimate goal of "stable and excellent" operation of large-scale integrated process equipment, process industrial enterprises such as refining and chemical industry need to change in a series of links such as automation engineering design and delivery, instrumentation, control, operation, maintenance, equipment management, and public engineering. In this regard, based on the open EcoStruxure architecture and platform, Schneider Electric provides a comprehensive process automation and digital solution for typical process industry users, including Foxboro The DCS process automation system, as well as the full lifecycle software solutions including Foxboro process instrumentation, Triconex safety instrumentation solutions, and AVEVA industrial software, run through the entire lifecycle of design, construction, operation and maintenance.
