The European Parliament Preliminarily Approves The British-European Trade Agreement

Reuters, European Parliament’s official website, April 15 news: Recently, the European Parliament’s International Trade Committee and Foreign Affairs Committee voted overwhelmingly to pass the Anglo-Europe trade agreement, further clearing the way for the final approval of the agreement. According to the agreement, before the end of April, the plenary session of the European Parliament should start a final vote on the agreement. Previously, the European Parliament planned to vote on this during the 26th to 29th session. Recently, however, it has been reported that the European Union believes that the implementation of the Northern Ireland Protocol by the United Kingdom is improper and has decided not to arrange for a final vote of the European Parliament plenary. Whether the agreement can finally complete the procedures remains to be seen. If it cannot be passed on time, the temporary application of the agreement will need to be extended again.
