Common Terminology of Pressure Gauge
Oct 15, 2019
1. Absolute pressure
Pressure based on absolute vacuum.
2. Positive Pressure (Force)
Based on the atmospheric pressure, the pressure is greater than the atmospheric pressure.
3. Negative Pressure (Force) (Vacuum)
Based on the atmospheric pressure, the pressure is less than the atmospheric pressure.
4. Differential Pressure (Force)
The difference between the two pressures.
5. Gauge pressure (force)
Based on the atmospheric pressure, the pressure is greater or less than the atmospheric pressure.
6. Pressure gauge
An instrument for measuring positive pressure based on atmospheric pressure.
7. Vacuum gauge
An instrument for measuring negative pressure based on atmospheric pressure.
8. Pressure Vacuum Meter
An instrument for measuring positive and negative pressures based on atmospheric pressure.
9. General pressure gauge
Pressure gauge, vacuum gauge and pressure vacuum gauge with accuracy level equal to or less than 1.0.
10. Tapping displacement
In the case of input unchanged, the instrument shows the change after tapping the instrument shell.
11. Overpressure
The instrument is loaded with a load greater than the upper limit of its measurement.
12. Alternating Pressure
The instrument is loaded with a certain range, frequency and reciprocating according to a certain rule.
13. Return error
Within the measuring range, when the input pressure rises or falls, the maximum difference between the two corresponding output values of the instrument at the same measuring point is tapped.
14. Temperature effect
When the other parameters of environmental conditions are kept at the reference value, the error caused by the change of temperature parameters.
15. Scope of measurement
The range of measurements to be measured with specified accuracy.
16. Scaling range
The range specified by the starting and ending values of the scale.
