Difference between pressure transmitter and remote pressure gauge
Pressure transmitters and remote pressure gauges are both instruments for measuring liquids, and they are almost the same in function. Many consumers are even more confused about the two. Remote pressure gauge refers to the use of a capillary tube to install the pressure gauge to a place where it does not vibrate in order to reduce the impact of vibration on the pressure gauge, which is different from a pressure transmitter. In order to help users distinguish and use the two, the differences between pressure transmitters and remote pressure gauges will be specifically introduced:
1. A pressure transmitter converts pressure signals into electrical signals. Generally, pressure is not directly displayed, but is transmitted to subsequent equipment through current or voltage, frequency and other signals. Functional extension is performed in subsequent equipment, and the signal is transmitted to distance. It can reach 1 ~ 3KM (current signal) ;; the remote pressure gauge, the transmitted signal is a resistance signal! The transmission accuracy is not high, the distance is limited! Each application has its own advantages, of course, for different uses, the customer's preference different!
2. The pressure transmitter can output analog signals (such as 4-20mA) for remote implementation of monitoring and control; remote pressure gauges generally only output switching signals for controlling the start and stop of equipment, such as water pumps.
3. The two pressures of the measured medium of the pressure transmitter pass into the high and low pressure chambers, and act on the isolation diaphragms on both sides of the delta element (that is, the sensitive element). Measure both sides of the diaphragm. The measuring diaphragm and the electrodes on the two sides of the insulating sheet each constitute a 4-20mA standard signal output by a capacitor and sent to the program control system;
The remote pressure gauge is suitable for measuring the pressure of liquids, vapors and gases that do not corrode steel and copper alloys. A slide-wire resistance type transmitter is set inside the instrument, which can transmit the measured value to the secondary instrument far away from the measurement point in order to achieve centralized detection and long-distance control. The instrument can also indicate the pressure on the spot to facilitate the scene. Process inspection. The meter is composed of a spring tube pressure gauge and a sliding wire resistance transmitter.
In addition, the working principle of the mechanical part of the remote pressure gauge is the same as that of the ordinary spring tube pressure gauge. Since the resistance transmitter is arranged on the gear transmission mechanism, when the sector gear shaft in the gear transmission mechanism is deflected, the arm (brush) of the resistance transmitter is also deflected accordingly, because the brush slides on the resistor , So that the change in the measured pressure value is converted into a change in the resistance value, and transmitted to the secondary meter, indicating a corresponding reading value. At the same time, the meter also indicates the corresponding pressure value.
