Precautions for Smc3, 4 and 5-way solenoid valves

When customers choose SMC solenoid valve products, we need to pay attention to the following matters.


1 specification confirmation: the solenoid valve product is only designed for the use of compressed air system (including vacuum). It should not be used for pressure and temperature outside the specification range to avoid damage and poor operation. We do not guarantee the damage caused by the use beyond the specification.


2. About driving the actuator: when the valve is used to drive the actuator such as the cylinder, measures shall be taken in advance to prevent the actuator from acting dangerous. Such measures as setting up cover and forbidding to approach.


3 about intermediate stop: use three position intermediate seal type or stop type reversing valve for intermediate stop of cylinder piston. Since air can be compressed, it is difficult to achieve accurate stop. In addition, the valve and cylinder can not guarantee no leakage, so they cannot be kept in the middle stop position for a long time. If there is a long time stop position, please contact us.


4. The influence of back pressure during valve assembly: when using the valve assembly, pay attention to the misoperation of the actuator caused by the back pressure, especially when using the three position medium relief reversing valve and driving the single acting cylinder. In case of such misoperation, we can use the separate exhaust partition assembly, back pressure prevention valve or the separate exhaust type assembly. In addition, the 4-position 3-way valve of sq1000 becomes 4-way specification (R1 and R2 are common), and a back pressure prevention valve can be installed. Although the back pressure of other valves can be prevented, the back pressure in the same valve can not be prevented, so it should be noted.


5. Pressure maintenance (including vacuum pressure): due to the slight leakage of the valve, it can not be used to maintain the pressure (or vacuum pressure) in the pressure vessel.


6 can not be used on emergency shut-off valve: the company's solenoid valve is not designed to ensure the safety of the emergency shut-off valve. Such a system should be solved by other means to ensure safety.


7. Residual pressure release: considering the need of maintenance and inspection, the function of residual pressure release shall be set. Especially when using three position middle seal or stop type air valve, it must be considered that the residual pressure between the reversing valve and the cylinder can be released.


8. Use under vacuum pressure: when the valve is used under vacuum switching, measures shall be taken to prevent external dust and foreign matters from being inhaled from suction cup and exhaust port, and vacuum filter shall be installed. In addition, when vacuum suction, always keep the vacuum suction. Due to the foreign matters attached to the suction cup and air leakage of the valve, the workpiece may fall down.


9. Vacuum switching valve and breaking valve: in the vacuum piping, once the valve not of vacuum specification is set, vacuum leakage will occur, so the valve of vacuum specification shall be used.


10 about the use of double coil: when the double coil type is newly used, the action direction of the actuator shall be considered according to the switching position of the valve, and the necessary countermeasures shall be taken due to the action of the actuator without danger.


11. Air change: when using valve in sealed control cabinet, air change port shall be set. In order to prevent the pressure in the control cabinet such as exhaust from rising or the heat of the valve from spreading out.


12 long term continuous power on:


When the valve is continuously energized for a long time, the performance and service life of the solenoid valve will be reduced due to the heating and temperature rise of the coil assembly, which will have a bad impact on the surrounding components nearby. For this reason, the DC specification and power saving type of SY series, or the low power specification of VQ series and other valves of long-term power on type shall be used for long-term continuous power on occasions, or the total power on time of each day is longer than the power off time. In addition, according to the service conditions (especially for DC specification valves), the use of valves other than those mentioned above shall be confirmed with us. In addition, there are also ways to use the N.O. specification to shorten the power on time.


When the valve is installed in the control cabinet, measures shall be taken to dissipate heat, and it shall be within the temperature range specified by the valve. Especially in the case of continuous power on for a long time above the adjacent position of the cartridge valve and the case of continuous power on for a long time at the a side and B side of SJ / SZ / SV / VQ / SQ series double 3-way valve, pay attention to the increase of temperature rise. (the AC specification of SY / VQ, with other corresponding products, shall be confirmed by the company.)
