The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and the National Bureau of Statistics Service Industry Research Center released on August 31. In August, market demand remained relatively weak, but the downward trend slowed down and showed signs of stabilization. The new order index was 49.7%, down 0.1 percentage points from the previous month, with a smaller decline. The export growth rate rebounded. The new export order index was 47.2%, up 0.3 percentage points from the previous month and rising for two consecutive months.


In August, the business operation was basically stable. Although the PMI of large enterprises declined, it remained in the expansion range; the small business PMI rose. The PMI of large enterprises was 50.4%, down 0.3 percentage points from the previous month. The production index and the new order index remained in the expansion range. Although the PMI of medium-sized enterprises fell by 0.5 percentage points from the previous month to 48.2%, the new order index and new export orders. Both increased; the PMI of small businesses was 48.6%, up 0.4 percentage points from the previous month. The production index returned to the expansion range after running for less than 50% for three consecutive months.


New momentum has maintained steady growth. In August, the new kinetics represented by the equipment manufacturing industry and high-tech industries maintained a steady growth trend. The equipment manufacturing PMI was 50.2%, up 1 percentage point from the previous month; the high-tech industry PMI was 51.2%, which was above 51% for 7 consecutive months.
