Application method and advantages of cylinder sealing ring

There are many specifications of cylinder sealing rings. Piston seals include O-ring, Y-ring, L-ring and small Y-ring. The following smartsolu will introduce the use and advantages of these sealing rings respectively.

1. O-ring seal

The O-ring seal has the advantages of reliable sealing, simple structure and low friction resistance.

After the O-ring is installed, it shall be greater than or less than 0.15 ~ 0.6mm than the inner diameter or outer diameter of the sealing surface. If the pre shrinkage compression is too large, the friction resistance will increase.

2. L-shaped sealing ring

L-type sealing ring has reliable sealing, long service life and greater friction resistance than O-ring. It is generally used for cylinders with diameter greater than 100mm.

During assembly, the screws shall not be tightened too tightly to avoid deformation and damage the sealing performance.

3. Y-ring seal

Y-shaped sealing ring has reliable sealing, long service life and greater friction resistance than O-ring. It is generally used for cylinders with diameter greater than 100mm.

4. Small Y-shaped sealing ring

The small Y-shaped sealing ring has high wear resistance and oil resistance, high strength and good elasticity. Its service life is several times higher than that of oil resistant rubber sealing ring. The friction force is much smaller than that of O-shape and Y-shape.

The piston has simple structure, and the length width ratio of the seal ring section is greater than 2. The seal ring will not roll down in use, has good self sealing performance, and will not leak under low pressure.
